I joined Gotelee in 1987 after training in Sussex
My cases cover all aspects of criminal law, but I have a particular expertise in all forms of regulatory enforcement including health & safety, animal welfare, planning, fire safety, highways and statutory nuisance, trading standards, confiscation, cash seizure, road traffic and licensing.
I achieve the best outcomes that can be achieved. Sometimes that can be measured in an acquittal and sometimes in the mitigation of a sentence.
I deal with cases perceptively and sensitively, but I am also clear and forthright in my advice. I do not pull my punches. I am thorough in my approach and I have excellent professional relationships with fellow professionals. I am both well-known and well respected in the criminal justice system regionally and through the many contacts that I have nationally.
I am an accredited criminal law practitioner and higher rights court advocate and I am qualified in health and safety law from the UEA. I am also the firm’s quality procedures partner and the Money Laundering Reporting Officer. Away from the firm, I was a Committee member of the Criminal Law Solicitors Association and a director of Ipswich CAB for many years.
